HOUSING CODE
4-4-1: ADOPTION OF UNIFORM HOUSING CODE:
There is hereby adopted for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the construction, alteration, removal, demolition, equipment, use and occupancy, location and maintenance of buildings and structures, that certain housing code known as the Uniform Housing Code, copyrighted by the International Conference of Building Officials, being particularly the 1970 Edition, as amended thereof, of which not less than three (3) copies have been and now are filed in the office of the Clerk, and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein and the provisions thereof shall be controlling in the construction of all buildings and other structures. 4-4-2: HOUSE NUMBERING:
It shall be the duty of the owners and occupants of every house in the Village to have placed thereon, in a place visible from the street, figures at least four inches (4") high showing the number of the house. House numbers shall be of a color contrasting to the background color. Roman numerals shall not be allowed. In the case of streets which have a "north, south, east or west" in the address, said numbers shall be preceded by a capital "N, S, E or W" as may be appropriate. Any person failing to so number any house, building or other structure occupied or owned by him, or, if after receiving notice to do so from the Village Clerk, shall continue in their failure to so number such house, building or structure, shall be subject to a fine not to exceed fifty dollars ($50.00) per day for each day that said house, building or structure fails to have numbering which complies with the requirements of this Section.
